Dana Green-Witter is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work, as well as a Certificate in Criminology, from Rutgers University. Dana has over 18 years of experience in all levels of care in the mental health field. In addition, she holds a Certificate in Clinical Supervision and provides supervision for Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Associate Counselors seeking to obtain clinical licensure in the state of New Jersey. Dana has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has worked with individuals who have symptoms of depression, anxiety, self-harming behavior, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, relationship issues, and borderline personality disorder. Dana is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and also draws from various evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), when working with clients. In addition, she is currently being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to enhance her skills in working with clients who have a history of trauma. Dana is also pursuing certification as a Telemental Health Practitioner (BC-TMH).
Dana’s strengths lie in her ability to connect with clients and assist individuals in becoming more aware of obstacles that stand in the way of growth, development, and reaching their goals. She is dedicated to utilizing evidence-based treatment when working with clients, making healing more effective in the long term. Dana practices from a client-centered perspective and believes that meeting clients where they are is essential in getting them to where they want to be.
